My brother gave me The Road by Cormac McCarthy from Christmas, which is good, but I've had to put it down because I have found myself more than once in tears on my commute to work. It's a kind of a bleak way to start the day, I think. I picked up Bridget Jones Diary as a light alternative and it's the perfect thing to read right now. Also, I am currently obsessed with the Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant podcasts and the combination is giving my inner monologue a delightful british accent.
