I just cancelled my Rhapsody. I feel cold and alone. Every second, some new band comes out, or a new cd drops, or a new single hits the waves that I would have loved if only I'd found it on the Rhap.
So help a less cool brutha out. What is everyone listening to? What are the high tech kids using to d/l music these days? Limewire? Bittorrent? Something cooler? And as a reward for cancelling Rhapsody, I'm going to start buying cds again, so send any suggestions this way.

Demonoid (a BT site) is pretty good for whole albums. Not always great for the off-the-beaten-track stuff, but it's got a good selection. Also, if you can get on to Oink, it's a phenominal BT site for music. One of the best, I hear. Damned if I can find an invite tho...
So, if you you're going to end up buying cds, why not just keep your subscription?
I agree with Peter, what prompted this obviously reluctant cancellation?
And Debo, BT is ok, I mean if you like techno/dance music. I can't believe there are entire file-sharing programs devoted to him though.
The reluctance is only due to a sense of comfort. To be honest, I rarely use Rhapsody more than a few hours a month these days. It's just not worth it for me anymore (especially since the new version, which I just haven't been able to get used to).
But I do miss having, actually owning, CDs. I'm not going to go out and buy the disk every time I hear a fun single (that's why I'm interested in "BT") but I really want to start building up my collection again. Maybe a CD a month or so.
I think Modest Mouse (and maybe The Shins?) will be high on that list, by the way.
Garv, you should also check out the Yahoo music subscription service. I'm not sure about pricing anymore, but back when I first looked at it the monthly rate was like $6.
uhm....sorry, to clarify I meant bit torrent when I said BT (yes, I'm that lazy)
